Burrito, along with many other animals, is up for adoption at the AWA’s Paws & Feet Walk/Run. The event is Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Eastern High School soccer field, and is their largest fundraiser of the year.
Historic house on Jackson Road won’t be demolished
A compromise has been reached between the developer and residents wishing to preserve the historic house. After residents spoke out about its demolition, it was approved at a Planning and Zoning board meeting that the house would not be torn down, as long as a few stipulations are met.
Camden County works with local animal rescue to have inmates train rescue dogs
Inmates will train and care for companion dogs to be adopted by veterans, who will give them a forever home. This program benefits veterans, inmates and dogs alike as the inmates are able to give back to the community and learn important skills as they are getting ready to re-enter society.
Mayor Emeritus John Armano receives prestigious award from NJ Conference of Mayors
Former Mayor of Berlin Borough, John Armano, was presented with Former Mayor of the Year Award by the New Jersey Conferences of Mayors on April 27. Armano served as mayor for eight years from 2008 to 2015 after serving on the Boro Council for six years.
