Clearview Middle School to have a ‘controlled opening’ March 12

The following comes from the Harrison Township Police Department’s Facebook page.

Earlier this evening, the Harrison Township Police Department was informed that an adult community member, who was on site for a youth basketball game, found a note in the Middle School bathroom. The note stated that someone was bringing a bomb March 12.

As always, we take all threats of this type very seriously and the safety of the students and staff remains our first priority.

Members of the Gloucester County Sherriff’s Department and the Deptford Township Police Department K-9 units conducted a sweep of the middle school over the past few hours.

The building was officially cleared to be open.

We do believe that our buildings are safe; however, in an effort to be extra cautious, we’re going to implement a ‘controlled opening’.

Middle school parents who are dropping off their child will be directed to the appropriate location.

K-9 units will be present in addition to the Harrison Township Police Department.

If anyone has information regarding this threat we ask that you contact the Harrison Township Police Department at (856) 478–6839.
