The air was filled with excitement as Timber Creek Regional High School celebrated its Class of 2024 graduation on June 14 at the Ralph E. Ross Stadium at 5 p.m. Proud families, friends, and faculty gathered to honor the achievements of this year’s graduates, who are now set to embark on their next chapters.
The ceremony began with a welcome address by Senior class President and Valedictorian, Harwin Singh Bhullar, where he led the guests with the Pledge of Allegiance. “Good evening, and welcome to the commencement ceremony of Timber Creek Class of 2024, at this time please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.”
He also welcomed special guests to the ceremony, which included Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Marcy Guyer, Chief Academic Officer, Mary Barata, BOE member, Shannon Moseley, BOE member, Jay McMullen and many more.
Principal Kelley A. McKenzie, who commended the students for their resilience and dedication, especially through challenging times. “Today, we celebrate not just your academic achievements but your growth, perseverance, and the bright futures that lie ahead,” McKenzie said.
Among the notable graduates, Jada Martinez will continue her studies at County College, while Naya Bailey and Amani Bell have been accepted to St. Joseph’s University. Giana Barbuto plans to attend Rieri Beauty School, and Jordan Bey will pursue expertise at Cosmetology School.
Rowan University was a popular choice for many graduates, including Jahim Bell, Brook Barefield, Jack Bobby, Janelle Bonis, Chase Ghou, and others. Stockton University will welcome Aurora Bay, and Temple University has accepted Harwin Bhullar and Arana Gray. Other notable acceptances include Alysa Bian and Joel B. to Rutgers University Camden, Evan B. to the University of South Carolina, and Karen Belli to Drexel University.
The graduates are not only heading to universities but also pursuing various vocational paths. Josh Caruso will join an HVAC apprenticeship at Union, and Olivia Farrer and Elena Jones will further their studies at different cosmetology schools.
The ceremony featured heartfelt speeches from the valedictorian, class president, and several teachers, each sharing words of wisdom and encouragement. The highlight of the event was the presentation of diplomas, with each student’s name called out to cheers and applause from the audience.
Additional notable graduates include:
- Isabel Finore, who will attend Genis Fox University.
- Ava Frankino, accepted to University Hill.
- Grace Elizabeth Gallagher, heading to C Hill University.
- Alex Garcia and Gregory Griffin, both set to attend County College.
- Nicholas Garcia, who will study at Camden County College.
- Valentino Gillis, accepted to Drexel University.
- Olivia G., continuing her education at the University of Burlington.
- Kai David and Liam Kane, who will study at County College.
- Several students, such as Samantha Brillo and Devin Brandley, are heading to prominent universities like Rider University and Thomas Jefferson University, respectively.
The ceremony began with the national anthem, beautifully performed by the Timber Creek Choir under the direction of Mr. John Perkis. Guests included Black Horse Pike Regional School District’s Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Mrs. Marcy Guyer, Director of Special Services, Chief Academic Officer Mary Bar, and Board of Education members. The ceremony also recognized Timber Creek’s Educator of the Year, Mr. Robert DiMaulo, and Senior Class Advisors, Ms. Lynsey Smith and Mr. Marc Disipio.
Mrs. Marcy Guyer addressed the audience, certifying that each student had successfully met all requirements for graduation. “Chargers, are you ready?” she called out, receiving an enthusiastic response from the graduates. “It is with pride and pleasure that I present to you Timber Creek Regional High School Class of 2024.”
Senior Class President Harwin Bhullar gave a heartfelt speech, thanking the military personnel and recognizing Mr. Milavsky for his dedication over the past four years. “Mr. Milavsky has been put through the ringer with us. I’m just glad he hasn’t quit yet,” Bhullar said humorously.
He also thanked Senior Class advisors, stating “Ms. Smith and Mr. Disipio have put in countless hours, and at times I thought they slept at the school.”
The ceremony continued with the presentation of diplomas to the top students, starting with Valedictorian and Class President Harwin Bhullar and Salutatorian, Karissa Coleman and other honor graduates like Victor Aquenda, Karissa Coleman, Kaitlyn Natalie Lon, Cory McCain, Elizabeth Rose Gallagher, Ava Blue Somerville, and many more.
As the ceremony concluded, the new graduates tossed their caps into the air, symbolizing both an end and a new beginning. The Timber Creek Regional High School Class of 2024 has shown exceptional promise, and their futures are indeed bright.
