Police forgo shaves in fight against child cancer

A campaign led by the Berlin Township Police Department is shedding light on the profound effects of child cancer and the families navigating the journey with them.

The no-shave fundraiser for December has become a symbol of solidarity, raising awareness and funds for the organization Special Love for Kids with Cancer.

Township officers have once again set aside their razors for a crucial cause. The fundraiser is more than just an exercise in facial hair growth; it’s a compassionate initiative aimed at addressing the far-reaching impact of child cancer on the lives of those it touches.

The funds generated through the fundraiser will benefit the Special Love for Kids with Cancer’s committment to providing support, joy, and comfort to children and families facing pediatric cancer. The Berlin officers participating in the campaign have pledged to donate a portion of their proceeds to the cause and have expressed gratitude to Berlin Community School for helping in the effort.

The fundraiser is not only an opportunity for officers to show their commitment to the cause by growing beards and facial hair this month. They are also sparking conversations and encouraging the community to reflect on the challenges faced by those for whom they are raising money. The police department also wants the no-shave effort to be a symbol of unity, empathy and hope.

Community members can join the cause by contributing directly. Select the team – Berlin Police Department NJ – on the official campaign page at https://no-shave.org/donate.
