One week remaining to donate school supplies for needy Burlington County families

Supplies will be distributed on Aug. 19 to any Burlington County family in need with children on a first come first served basis while supplies last

There’s still time to help Burlington County children start off the school year with much-needed school supplies.

A Backpack and School Supplies Drive organized by the Burlington County Commissioners, State Senator Troy Singleton and the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office is continuing through Thursday, Aug. 17.

Backpacks; calculators; binders; paper, folders; notebooks; pencils; pens; composition books; crayons; lunch boxes and other supplies can be dropped off at Sen. Singleton’s legislative office at 400 North Church Street, Suite 260 and all Burlington County government offices and Burlington County Library Branch locations.

All donated items will be distributed on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center, 53 Academy Drive in Westampton.

More than 1,000 items were collected and distributed during last year’s drive. This year, the County is hoping to surpass that success and help even more children start the school year right.

Supplies will be distributed during the Aug. 19 event to any Burlington County family in need with children on a first come first served basis while supplies last.
