Burlington County hosts an evening of art, music and coffee

Activity features Squeegee Painting with Jonny Buss, a craftsman and artist with the county parks system

Special to The Sun: Visitors at the first Art & Coffee Break in May danced to the jazz music of Tamer Tewfik and learned the art of cyanotype printing. The next Art & Coffee Break is this Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery in Historic Smithville Park.

Art, music and coffee lovers can now experience all three delights during Burlington County’s new Art & Coffee Break evenings.

Held on select Thursday evenings at the Smithville Mansion Annex Art Gallery in Historic Smithville Park, Art & Coffee Breaks feature a fun art activity, live music and free coffee and refreshments. It’s a great night out for couples, families or small groups of friends and a fantastic way to experience the beauty of Smithville and the fine art on display in the gallery.

“You don’t need to go to Philadelphia or New York for a fantastic evening out. There’s plenty to do and see in Burlington County, which is quickly developing one of the most vibrant art and music scenes in the region,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “We’re proud to support that growth and Art & Coffee Break is a great way to bring visitors to Smithville and one of the best art galleries in the region.”

The next Art & Coffee Break is this Thursday, Aug. 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery. It will feature Squeegee Painting with Jonny Buss, a craftsman and artist with the Burlington County Parks System, and the music by Radiant Life Perspective, a husband-wife indie music duo known for their songs on television shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Finding Carter” and “The Fosters.”

On display at the Annex Gallery is the “Out of the Darkness Into the Light” photography exhibit featuring images of famous musicians and rock bands from their live concerts, including several rock and jazz legends like the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The event is completely free and open to all ages. No registration is required. Visitors are not required to participate in the art activity. Drop in for 20 minutes or stay for the full two hours.
