At the Age 96, Helen Louise Richardson, of Haddonfield, NJ formerly of Ellensburg, WA passed away. Helen Louise Richardson was born March 8, 1922 in Sycamore, Ill. to William and Helen Richardson. She married Lawrence Alonzo Danton in 1945. They had three children Stephen (Medi), and David (Susan) and daughter Julie.

Mrs. Danton Fennerty was predeceased by Lawrence Alonzo Danton and her son Stephen Danton. In 1997 she married her second husband, Francis Fennerty, who also predeceased her.

She was a grandmother to Lawrence Arthur, (Dawn), David William (Julie), Matthew Evan (Laura), Michael Craig (Kalina) and Kevin James (Alyssa), Leanne Christanson (Todd), and great-grandmother to seven.

For more than 60 years, Louise was the matriarch of the family. She was Aunt Louise to 7 nieces and nephews and Great Aunt Louise to their children. Louise had a passion for documenting family history. She was the caretaker of over 130 original Civil War letters, as well as other family memorabilia. She spent her retirement years documenting both paternal and maternal family history, and has presented every one of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews with bound volumes of her work.

By profession, Louise was a schoolteacher at Mt. Stuart Elementary, in Ellensburg, Washington, teaching for more than 25 years. After retiring from the public school system, Louise worked at Central Washington State University, mentoring and supervising future teachers.

Louise was very active in the First Lutheran Church in Ellensburg, WA, as well as the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Haddonfield, NJ

Louise is the last of her generation in our family, and we can only hope the we, her children and her nieces and nephews, continue the lessons she taught us: never undervalue the importance of family, be strong in your beliefs, be wise with your words, be generous with your heart, be sharing with your wisdom and gentle with your criticism.

Helen Louise passed away June 22, due to complications from Alzheimer’s.

Helen’s family will greet friends on Friday, July 6 from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 204 Wayne Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
