Emily Vick returns to Haddonfield

Markeim Arts Center and Emily Vick, a graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School and Catholic University’s Rome School of Music and a music theatre actor, invites you to join her for “Longing for Dear Old Broadway; Emily Vick Sings the songs of Cole Porter” accompanied by Paula Meyer.

The event will be held on Friday, June 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and desserts will be sold. Tickets are available for purchase at www.markeimartscenter.org, 856–429–8585 or at Markeim Arts Center

Locally, Vick has performed at Haddonfield Plays and Players, in the HMHS musicals and at the Ritz Theatre Company as well as understudied at the Arden Theatre. She has performed in many American venues as well as in Bogota, Singapore, Manila, Sydney, Toronto and several locations in New Zealand. Vick has taught theatre and music for several theatre camps, as well as working in classrooms as an elementary educator. She is currently pursuing her masters degree at Bank Street College of Education in New York City.

In addition to teaching and performance, she started a theatre company which was featured at the New York International Fringe Festival. Vick recently recorded her first CD which included a mix of classic and contemporary songs and a few new compositions, with proceeds supporting a school in Romania. Vick will be accompanied by Paula Meyer, the choral director at Haddonfield Memorial High School.

During the show the audience will have the privilege of viewing the HMHS Seniors Art Exhibition. This exhibition of contemporary art will be presented to the public at Markeim Arts Center, from June 1 through June 5. Markeim will host the reception for the HMHS Art Exhibition from 3 to 5 p.m. on June 5. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. and Saturday 1 to 3 p.m. Gallery admission is free.

Markeim will host the event in conjunction with Haddonfield’s First Friday celebration. A portion of the proceeds from the show support Markeim Arts Center.
