On May 14, 2011, age 81, of Cherry Hill. Loving wife of 58 years to William M. Carr, Sr. of Cherry Hill; Beloved mother of William M., Jr. (Patty) of Maple Shade, Deborah C. (Richard) Pappas of Richland, WA and Anne (John) Picking of Haddonfield and Devoted grandmother of Jessica, Erica, John, Veronica, and Ian Picking, Jason Carr, Pamela Mossbrucker, and Alex and Morgan Pappas. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Monica Picking, her brother Clyde Tucker and her sister Lorraine Burns.
Joyce was a 1947 graduate of Spaulding High School in Barre, Vermont, where she grew up, still summered and enjoyed many friendships. She had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield. She sang in the choir, was a member of the Women’s Union, served on numerous boards and was a member of the Baptist Home Auxiliary in Riverton. Joyce also served as a driver for Interfaith Caregivers and was a member of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America. Additionally, she loved traveling with her husband and had worked as a legal secretary for many years.
Family and friends are invited to Rejoice and Celebrate Joyce’s Life on Friday, May 20, 7:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, 124 E. Kings Highway. Interment private. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Joyce’s name to Interfaith Caregivers, P.O.
