The following items can be found on file with the Haddonfield Police Department:
• An officer on patrol at 7:58 a.m. on Aug. 16 found a manila envelope on the ground containing an insurance and registration card for a vehicle. The envelope was returned to the car owner, who said that his car was entered the night before and the envelope was stolen.
• A Rhoads Avenue resident reported to police on Aug. 16 at 8:03 a.m. that her unlocked car was entered the night before and a Garmin GPS unit was stolen.
• A Rhoads Avenue resident reported to police on Aug. 16 at 7:07 a.m. that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took his Dell laptop.
The laptop was for work, he said, and it was a 2003 model. He provided officers with the serial number.
• A Rhoads Avenue resident reported to police on Aug. 16 at 7:34 a.m. that a black purse was on the side of the road. An officer came to the scene and found the purse, which he then returned to its owner.
The owner said that the night before an unknown suspect had entered her unlocked vehicle and stole the bag. The purse only contained about $15 in various coins and bills.
• A Rhoads Avenue resident reported to police on Aug. 16 at 8:35 a.m. that someone entered his unlocked Jeep Wrangler and rifled through its glove box.
The Jeep does not have doors so it was easy to enter.
• A police officer patrolling Rhoads Avenue on Aug. 16 found a bag of 16 soccer balls on the side of the road. A Rhoads Avenue resident reported to police on Aug. 16 at 8:25 a.m. that the soccer balls were his.
They were stolen from his unlocked car the night before, the victim reported, and they were returned to him.
• A resident reported to police on Aug. 15 at 6:22 p.m. that his car, which was parked in a lot on Grove Street, had its windshield smashed in by what looked like a baseball.
Juveniles had been playing baseball nearby, but were no longer in the area when patrols arrived.
• A Greenmount Road resident reported to police on Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. that someone entered an unlocked vehicle on the property and stole $5 from the car.
• A Winding Way resident reported to police on Aug. 15 at 5:27 p.m. someone entered her car the night before and stole a Tom Tom GPS unit, a hot pink iPod Nano, and an iPod FM Converter.
The victim said she believed the car door was locked, but that the automatic locks had been malfunctioning recently.
