While downtown Haddonfield businesses are busy handling holiday shoppers this season, many storeowners are also finding time to give back to the community.
The following is a list of some of the Haddonfield businesses holding food, money and other types of collections for area shelters, food banks, The Fellowship House, and other charitable organizations.
Food Collections

Collecting canned goods and non-perishable items for its annual food drive taking place through Tuesday, Dec. 13. The food drive benefits the Cherry Hill Food and Outreach Council.

Collecting cereal for Sacred Heart Church in Camden through Dec. 25.
• The Picket Fence and Garden Tea Room — 103 Kings Highway East; 795–5357.
Holding a food collection for the Pennsauken Food Bank now through Dec. 25.

Hosting a Beatles Sing Along and Food Bank Benefit for the Food Bank of South Jersey on Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Coin Drives

Holding a Coin Drive for Philabundance from Wednesday, Dec. 7 through Friday, Dec. 23.
Toy Collections

Hosting a Brunch with Father Christmas and Toy Drive for Toys for Tots on Sunday, Dec. 18 from noon to 3 p.m.
• Country Way Bridal — 200 Kings Highway East; 745–9005.
Holding a toy drive for Toys 4 Tots now through Thursday, Dec. 22. Country Way Bridal will also host a Toy Collection Party on Thursday, Dec. 22 with light snacks and refreshments.
Pet Goods Collections
• Stardust Memories — 25 Tanner Street; 428–1943.
Collecting pet food, blankets, towels and pillow cases for rescued animals through Dec. 25.
• Doggie and Kitty Style — 207 Kings Highway East; 216–7387.
Collecting gently used toys, old towels and old blankets for dogs and cats at The Animal Orphanage in Voorhees, as well as for pets that are part of Operation Ava in Philadelphia. The collection is taking place year-round.
Miscellaneous Community Events
• Jamaican Me Crazy — 139 Kings Highway East; 616–1291.
The store is housing and showing homeless cats for adoption for Friends Animal Rescue through the end of 2011.
