Medford Arts Center announces 13th Annual Juried Poetry Contest and 3rd Annual Juried Poetry Contest for high schoolers

Medford Arts Center announces its 13th Annual Juried Poetry Contest and its 3rd Annual Juried Poetry Contest for high school students.

Due to restrictions and concerns for participants, in light of COVID-19, MAC has streamlined both the submission requirements and its annual award ceremony.  The award ceremony will take place virtually on Dec. 21.  Details will be forthcoming.

Submission requirements are as follows:
1) Submissions should be sent via email to [email protected].
2) Participants without access to email are permitted to mail their submissions directly to
Medford Arts Center, 8 North Main Street, Medford, NJ  08055.
3) All submissions (emails or sent via US Mail) must be received by November 30, 2020.
4) Instead of completing an application, we ask that participants include with their email submissions the following: participant name; participant address; participant contact number (specify mobile or landline); written acknowledgement that participant is willing to share their poems online if they are part of the award celebration; confirmation that participant is a high school student and including the name of high school and grade (for high school poetry contest).

Any form of poetry is acceptable. All submitted work must be original as well as the work of the poet entering the contest and not previously published. Up to three poems may be submitted by each entrant. There is no fee to enter.

Students attending high schools in Burlington County are eligible to participate in the 3rd Annual Juried Poetry Contest.

Poets over the age of 18 residing in Burlington County are eligible to participate in the 13th Annual Poetry Contest for Adults.

On Monday, Dec. 21, winners will be announced online, and a virtual reading and award ceremony will take place.  Selected finalists will be invited to share their work.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three poems in each contest.  The following awards will be presented to the winners: $125 for first place; $75 for second place; $50 for third place.
