Army veteran, Haddonfield resident, mail carrier, dedicated volunteer passed away late last week
Robert L. Flexon, long time Haddonfield resident, passed away on Dec. 22 at the age of 90. Robert was the husband of the late Mary A. (nee Feltman), beloved father of Joyce (Robert) Longo of Waterford Twp., N.J., Janet (Robert) Butler of Stratford, N.J., Robert (Elise) Flexon of Houston, TX, William (Paige) Flexon of Ashland, Va. and Carol Herman (Vince Collotti) of Somerdale, N.J. He was also the beloved grandfather of 18, treasured great-grandfather of 13 and dear brother of C. Richard “Dick” Flexon of Stratford.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a U.S. Mail Carrier in Haddonfield for 42 years. He was also active in his community as a volunteer member of the Haddonfield Fire Co. №1 for 50 years, coaching Little League for Haddonfield youth sports teams, and longtime member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church.
Bob’s family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd., Haddonfield, where his service will follow at 11 a.m. At the conclusion of the service, there will be military honors and as we procession to the cemetery, we will briefly stop in front of Haddon Fire Co. №1 for honors. Interment will take place at Haddonfield United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Bob may be made to the church’s Music Fund at the above address or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 100 N. 20th Street, Suite 405, Philadelphia, PA 19103
