Haddonfield Memorial High School Madrigal Singers announce holiday performances

Three shows to take place Dec. 14–15 at Grace Church

The Haddonfield Memorial High School Madrigal Singers invite residents to enjoy the music and merriment of the season at their annual Dessert Theater.

On Dec. 14–15, the Madrigal Singers will perform at the “Royal Court” in the auditorium of the Grace Church, 19 Kings Highway East. The show will feature songs and dances of the season, a comedy guaranteed to amuse and entertain, a wassail toast, the regal presentation of the Boar’s Head, and an elegant coffee and dessert buffet.

Under the direction of choir director Tyler Mills, student singers will appear in renaissance inspired costumes as they present madrigal songs, pieces of vocal music that originated in France and England. Since the troupe’s inaugural season in 1997, the Madrigals have performed at the White House, Washington National Cathedral, the Kimmel Center and Longwood Gardens.

All are invited to attend this special part of Haddonfield’s hometown holiday tradition. The HMHS Madrigal Singers will host three Dessert Theater performances this season: Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:00 p.m., then Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. then again at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for all performances, and can be purchased here: Madrigals2018.eventbrite.com. For any additional questions, contact [email protected].
