Camden County Library System Expands Services with Full-Time Social Worker

Camden County Library System

The Camden County Library System is expanding community support by adding social work services for residents.

In a move aimed at addressing a wide range of needs, the library has hired T’Keyah Hose as a full-time social worker, offering free and confidential assistance.

Hose will travel to each of the library system’s branches on a monthly basis, ensuring accessibility for residents across Camden County, NJ.

Her role encompasses support in multiple areas, including housing and food assistance, employment services, utility bill aid, senior resources, healthcare and insurance guidance, as well as mental health and counseling referrals.

County Commissioner Virginia Betteridge emphasized the library’s evolving role is much more than a resource for books.

She noted that bringing in a social worker reinforces the library’s function as a pillar of community support, strengthening the county’s ability to meet residents’ needs where they are.

Camden County Library Director Linda A. Devlin spoke about the importance of having an on-staff social worker who can directly link individuals with essential resources and help them navigate life’s challenges more effectively.

The announcement coincides with National Social Work Month, with Social Worker Appreciation Day taking place on March 19.
