
Mary Theresa Bannan passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on February 10, 1932, and was predeceased by her parents, John Joseph Bannan and Mary Elizabeth Bannan (née Griffin), as well as her four brothers, Thomas, Gerald, Vincent, and John (Jack) Bannan. She was cherished by her 13 nieces and nephews: John Joseph Bannan, Cherilyn Helen Perelli, Camille Mae Bannan, Cynthia Lee Sozio, Christine Mary Bannan Thompson, Vincent Gerald Bannan, Gerald Paul Bannan, Eileen Rita Bannan-Hanson, Kathleen Ann Bannan (deceased), Maureen Elizabeth Boll, Thomas James Bannan (deceased), Sharon Marie Caparino, and Sheila Louise Bannan.
Mary grew up in the Parkside section of Camden, NJ. She graduated from Camden Catholic High School in 1950 and later earned an associate’s degree in business management from Camden County Community College, where she was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. She built a successful career as an executive administrative assistant at RCA and General Electric before transitioning to work as a law assistant for Frank Cosky in Moorestown, NJ.
A devoted member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Haddonfield, Mary served as a Eucharistic minister. She had a deep passion for family genealogy research and was a published author of children’s stories. She also found joy in playing the piano.
Mary was a proud member of the Ye Olde Newton-Nassau Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over 50 years. She held several state offices within the DAR, including Vice Regent and State Corresponding Secretary, and served as New Jersey State Regent from 2001 to 2004.
A funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Church in Haddonfield, NJ, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11 a.m.
