
Reinaldo Alfonso Acosta Ivagon, beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather passed away on January 30, 2025, in Voorhees, New Jersey. Alfonso, as everyone knew him, was born in Ibague, Colombia on (August 12, 1932).
Orphaned at the age of 9 and with no family except a sister whom he would encounter a few years later, he taught himself to read and write and went on to marry the love of his life Maria Ligia Acosta, celebrating 70 years of marriage on January 2nd 2025.
A hardworking man, he taught himself various skills, landing on body shop work, (a skill at which he excelled) going on to own several body shop businesses over the years. After retirement he lived in Colombia, and Florida, finally returning to New Jersey to be closer to family.
Survivors include his beloved spouse Maria Ligia Acosta, Carlos Alberto (Nilsa Eneida) Acosta, Juan David Acosta & (Jerry Macdonald), and Carmen Elena Acosta. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Alfonso Yehudah Acosta, Carlos David Acosta, Nilsa Debra Acosta, Isaias Yovel Acosta, Ligia Rinatya Acosta, Adrian Mark Ramos, Felicia Gaffney, Brianna Elise Lombardo, Hefziba D’Ambrossio, Ishbara Dutko, Alabayith MacMillan, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th, @ 1:00 PM, First Spanish Baptist Church of Pennsauken, 6629 Chandler Avenue, Pennsuaken, NJ 08110.
