Blood drive from 1-6 p.m. at the Free Public Library of Monroe Township, 713 Marsha Ave. The American Red Cross continues to amplify the ongoing critical need for blood and platelets to keep the blood supply stable as fall begins. Donors of all blood types, especially those with type O blood, those giving platelets and those who have never given before, are needed now. Shades of Harmony Chorus invites you to their Make Your Own Scarecrow Fundraiser. Dates and times are Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday Oct. 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Danny’s Farm Market is located at 930 S. Black Horse Pike, Williamstown. Everything will be provided for participants to make their own, life-sized scarecrow. It’s a fun family event that kids love! Donate gently used winter coats through Oct. 10 in a bin at 420 S. Main St. for the second annual coat drive sponsored by Viola’s Place along with Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home and Diane Memorials.

Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19

Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management is hosting free 12-hour Disaster Preparedness and Survival training that is open to the public. This training is being taught by Texas A&M and is funded through FEMA. The in-person class will be held 6-10 p.m., Oct. 18 and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 19. Those interested must attend both days.
