Hometown Hero: Javier ‘Danny’ Caballero

Javier “Danny” Caballero manages the maintenance of the Hunt Club Condominium complex day in and day out ensuring the upkeep and safety of the homes.

On June 20, he was faced with a “dangerous and potentially tragic event” when a fire broke out at one of the condominiums.

Caballero demonstrated “extraordinary courage and swift action in the face of this emergency.”

“Without regard for his own safety, Danny bravely entered the burning building to rescue an elderly resident and their beloved pet, thereby preventing what could have been a devastating loss of life,” Mayor Laurie Burns said.

“Danny’s quick thinking and compassion is a testament to his character and to his commitment to the well-being of others.

“Danny’s heroism is not just an individual act, it is a powerful reminder of the potential for greatness within us all,” Burns said.

The mayor and the Township Council honored Caballero with a hometown hero proclamation for his bravery and courage at a meeting in June.
