Kitten season is in full bloom and the Burlington County Animal Shelter is holding a special event to showcase its youngest felines and all the other pets that are available for adoption.
The Burlington County Kitten and Pet Shower will be held on Sunday, June 23, at the shelter in Westampton. From noon to 3:30 p.m., visitors will be able to meet and interact with the shelter’s kittens, dogs and cats. There will also be games, giveaways and opportunities to learn more about pet adoptions, fostering and volunteer opportunities at the shelter.
The event is being organized by the shelter in partnership with the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter volunteer group to help boost adoptions during what is typically one of the busiest times of the year at the shelter. Fees for adult adoptions initiated during the event will be waived.
Visitors can also help by bringing donations to support the shelter and many of its youngest animals, including Stage 1 and 2 formula for kittens and puppies, baby animal training pads, puppy and kitten food, baby wipes (unscented and hypoallergenic, heating pads, portable playpens and bottles.

All dogs and cats adopted from the animal shelter are spayed or neutered and brought up-to-date with vaccinations.
Residents unable to make it to Sunday’s pet shower event are welcome to visit the shelter and its animals on another date. The shelter is open for walk-in visits from noon to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and from noon to 4 p.m. and Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m. The shelter is open for appointments-only on Wednesdays.
