Burlington County Summer Concert Series kicks off with Johnny Maestro doo-wop tribute

Free concerts by The Nerds, tributes to music of Neil Diamond, Huey Lewis, 80s and 90s pop and rock also on tap

Burlington County’s free concert series is returning this summer. Among the performers scheduled is The Nerds, a popular cover band playing R&B, funk, dance, pop, punk and new wave hits since 1985.

Tribute and cover bands from all ages and genres will be featured during this year’s Burlington County Summer Concert Series returning to the Burlington County Amphitheater most weekends beginning in late June through August.

Among the featured performers will be The Reagan Years, an 80s tribute band renown for replicating the pop, rock, new wave and heavy metal hits from MTV-era greats like Madonna, Bon Jovi, Billy Idol and Hall & Oates.

Other performers in the concert lineup include renown Jersey cover band, The Nerds; Huey Lewis and the News tribute group, Back in Time; Neil Diamond tribute band, Real Diamond; and Nine Deez Nite, a collection of musicians performing 90s era hits from the likes of Pearl Jam, N’Sync, Nirvana, Snoop Dog and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The concert series kicks off on Friday, June 28, with Step by Step, a doo-wop band celebrating the music of 50s’ and 60s’ legend Johnny Maestro. 

All concerts are held at the Burlington County Amphitheater in Westampton. Admission is free.

Shows begin at 6 p.m. with an opening act, followed by the evening’s headliner at 7 p.m. Attendees can set up chairs and blankets in the amphitheater beginning at 4 p.m. Seating is first available, with the top row reserved for attendees with mobility challenges, including those with wheelchairs, walkers or canes, along with their caregivers.

Concert goers are permitted to bring their own food and beverages. No alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapor products or other drugs are permitted.

The concerts are organized by the Burlington County Parks System with support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. They are part of a season of fun entertainment, educational classes, programs and events offered at county parks, museums and galleries all summer.
