Freemasons honor educators and students

Rising Sun Lodge No.15; Lazarus Lodge No. 303; and Collingswood-Cloud Lodge No. 101, F&AM, will hold their annual joint education awards banquet at Haddonfield Masonic Temple, 16 Kings Highway East on Wednesday, June 5.

The awards honor the dedication and hard work of local educators and students. Rising Sun Lodge will honor its chosen educator of the year, Tammy K. McHale, principal of Haddonfield Memorial High School. Lazarus Lodge will similarly honor Gregory Satchell, a teacher at Camden’s Eastside High School, as its educator of the year. Each awardee receives a plaque and a cash honorarium.

The Rising Sun Scholarship Fund Inc., a charity of Rising Sun Lodge, will honor three high-school graduates with scholarship awards: Brady Norton and Mike Nuckols of Haddonfield Memorial High School, and Isabela Tahmazian of Williamstown High School. The Collingswood-Cloud Lodge’s annual scholarships will go to Collingswood and Gloucester City high schools, wiith specific recipients chosen by the schools.

The Rising Sun, Lazaru, and Collingswood-Cloud awards support the tradition of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons, the world’s oldest fraternal organization, long a supporter of education and other charitable causes.
