Renee Siegel recently shared the story of her late mother, Holocaust survivor Helen Rieder, at Deptford Middle School. The event was planned by teachers Tamresa Betz and Heather Imhof, whose classes have recently studied the subject. “The Holocaust is a prime example of what can happen when people remain bystanders and when bigotry goes unchecked,” Siegel noted. “My mother would want you to know that nothing good comes from hatred. She would want you to be kind to one another and respect other’s differences.”
