The venue will be decorated in the colors of Valentine’s Day for the free meal, which will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and be provided in part by participants. The event has been held on and off for the last 25 years

Couples of all ages are welcome to join us …” said the church’s newsletter. “Get a
babysitter and join us for the evening.”

“It’s not a fundraiser,” said church administrator Mildred Herman, “just a fun evening for those who come. We decorate (the hall) usually in red, white and black. We sit four couples at a table. They are each assigned to bring part of the meal for that table.”

The food should be in a covered dish. Once dinner is concluded, couples will partake in a variety of activities and games, including bidding on prizes with play money.

Herman estimates the dinner draws about 35 to 40 people.

” … (It’s) relatively low-key, really,” she noted.

The event requires advance registration. Couples can do so at the church or by calling its office at (856) 589-0874.

The dinner is one of two major events the church holds in February: Next up is a bagged lunch sale on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
