Berlin’s reorganization meeting last week saw an array of appointments and new initiatives for the year ahead.
Mayor Rick Miller began the session by marking a significant moment in the township’s administrative landscape. He – along with council members Len Badolato and Keith Hohing – took the oath of office administered by Commissioner Jeffrey L. Nash. Accompanied by their families, they pledged their commitment to serving the borough in the coming term.
The meeting also saw several significant resolutions put forth for consideration. Among those confirmed were the appointment of attorney Howard C. Long Jr. of Wade, Long, Wood & Long in Laurel Springs as borough solicitor; Anne Marie Miller as administrator; and Rachel Von Der Tann as municipal clerk.
Miller also presented plans for infrastructure enhancement, including the introduction of an ordinance amending off-duty employment regulations. The proposed measure aims to refine payment requirements outlined in Chapter 52, Article II, of the borough code.
Crucial to Berlin’s reorganization were mayoral appointments to various boards and committees that reflect diversity. The planning board, the Historic Preservation Commission, the board of health and library trustees have new members joining their ranks. Council committee appointments – such as public works, streets and roads and finance, among others – were established.
Miller concluded the meeting with the appointment of key officials and sub-officials across departments that emphasize a commitment to efficient administration. The session also saw the recognition of Judge Kristen McCrink JMC, for her service.
