Counselors are on hand at Palmyra Police headquarters, 20 West Broad St., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday for those struggling with substance abuse as part of the Straight to Treatment program. No appointment or insurance is needed, just walk right in and be helped.

Rutgers Master Gardener course

Interested in becoming a Rutgers Master Gardener and learning more about horticulture? There is still time to sign up for the Rutgers Master Gardeners Course in Burlington County. The mostly online class starts on Tuesday, Jan. 23. Please email your interest to burlingtonmg@njaes.rutgers.edu. Information will be emailed back to you. This course is limited to Burlington County residents only.

Seniors Lunch

The monthly seniors lunch event is held every third Tuesday at the Christ Episcopal Church Parish House, 4th and Howard St., Riverton. All are invited for the free lunch and can bring a friend. A chair lift is available. If you need a ride or know someone who does call SEN HAN Transportation at (877) 603-5111 to register.

The lunch is free of charge, but donations are welcome.

The Palmyra Police Department is hiring and looking for certified and SLEO II candidates for full time employment. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen and have a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Applications can be picked up at police headquarters. Charles Street Child Care (CSCC) registration for grades K through 5 is open for the 2023-34 school year. Before-Care now available starting at 7 a.m. After-Care available from dismissal until 5:45 p.m. Please note that if you need child care for a preschool student, they must attend Palmyra Preschool at Delaware Avenue.  The YMCA runs the program for preschoolers.
