Harrison Township has announced the launch of a new online business directory called “Find it in the Hill” that is available on the Harrision website and highlights Mullica Hill businesses.

“This directory promises to be your shop local resource when searching for dining, shopping, services and more in the hill,” said Mayor Louis Manzo.

People can access the directory by clicking the website’s “shop local” tab. Businesses are divided into categories based on what a resident seeks, including activities and learning, beauty and wellness, doctors and health care, professional services, restaurants and shopping.

Once a category is clicked on, businesses that fit its description will appear with a phone number, an address link, a website and a Facebook page. The directory will also spotlight 10 major businesses that play a major part in the community.

The news was announced by Manzo on Dec. 15, then posted to Facebook two days later. The main goal of the venture, according to the mayor, is to encourage residents to support both small businesses and the township as a whole by contributing to the local economy.

“Our local businesses are an integral part of the special charm that defines Harrison Township,” Manzo noted. “Many are owned by our friends and neighbors, and did you know that for every dollar spent at a locally owned business, about 70 cents stays local?”

A number of local businesses are united under the Mullica Hill Business Association, which aims to bolster the township’s business community. The township has also helped the association promote its events, such as the annual fall festival..

“I hope you enjoy exploring ‘Find it in the Hill,'” Manzo said. “I encourage you to visit it often and shop local.”
