A finale of music and song

The finale of the Harrison Township Historical Society’s fall concert and lecture series will take place at Richwood Academy Cultural Center on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. Popular and classical music will be provided by acclaimed soprano Julie-Ann Green and pianist Joseph Krupa.

Green brings a wealth of experience to her concerts. In addition to performances with the New York City Opera and Opera Philadelphia, she debuted at New York City’s Carnegie Hall in 1992 and has appeared on stages throughout the U.S. and Europe. She has performed with the likes of Michael Buble and Barbra Streisand.

Green frequently performs with Krupa, a much sought-after, collaborative pianist for choruses, opera and music theater companies in the tri-state area, as well as solo singers and instrumentalists. He is a alumnus of Rutgers University and the University of Calgary.

Green and Krupa are also educators: She is a vocal teacher at Chartertech High School for the Performing Arts in Somers Point and he teaches piano privately throughout South Jersey.

The finale program, “Sweet Singing and Seasonal Favorites,” includes a wide range of musical periods and styles, from classical and operatic repertoire to musical theater and holiday favorites.

Richwood Academy Cultural Center is located at 836 Lambs Road in Richwood. There is no admission fee for the concert; free tickets and information are available online at the Harrison Township Historical Society’s website, www.harrisonhistorical.com and its Facebook page. Programs are also livestreamed and archived at Facebook.
