Deptford residents cast their votes on Nov. 7

Voters in Deptford went to the polls on Nov. 7 and elected members of the governing body and board of education.

The Gloucester County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website. All results are unofficial until a vote counting process that could take more than a week to complete.

The totals as of Nov. 8 do not include late mail-in and provisional ballots that are expected to be tallied later this week.

Three council positions were up for grabs. Democratic incumbent council candidates Paul Medany, Tom Hufnell and newcomer Brandi Leidy are ahead as of Nov. 8. Medany got 3,866 votes, Hufnell got 3,851 and Leidy received 3,832.

The Democrats were challenged by Republican candidates Derek Stallwood, David Aber and Martin McDonough. Stallwood has earned 2,636 votes, Aber has 2,641 and McDonough has 2,631.

Three board of education seats were up for grabs. Incumbent board member Joe Mckenna, and candidates Milton Corsey and Daniel McCurdy are ahead, with McKenna earning 3,826 votes, McCurdy 3,280 and Corsey 3,141.

Incumbent board member Stacy Gray got 2,870 votes and Linda Rosser received 2,791.
