The bazaar will return to the township community center and feature more than 50 vendors.
Deptford will host its annual holiday bazaar at township community center on Saturday, Nov. 4.
The free event will feature more than 50 vendors, according to the township’s website, representing local businesses from Deptford and neighboring communities. Hundreds are expected to attend between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and can make purchases from vendors.
“Local businesses come to help promote their businesses, and people come to get a start on their Christmas shopping,” said Township Clerk Dina Zawadski. “We’re expecting over 200 to 300 people. It’s reaching out to the community and kicking off the holiday season in Deptford.”
Last year’s event drew about 400 people, according to Zawadski. Vendors will offer a wide range of crafts, including wreaths, jewelry, wood crafts, handmade items and candles. Food trucks from local eateries will be on hand, along with baked goods.
The bazaar is among activities that prepare residents for the holidays.
“It’s one of the things we do … to get them (residents) in the mood for the holiday season,” noted Zawadski. “It’s an exciting event. It starts off Christmas here in Deptford and it’s where people come out and have fun.”
Mayor Paul Medany and the other members of council will also be at the event to talk to residents, vendors and more.

This bazaar is the first of several holiday events in Deptford during November and December. Among them are the annual tree lighting at the recreation center on Friday Dec. 1; pictures with Santa at the Deptford Dog Park on Saturday, Dec. 9; and the Senior Winter Wonderland at the community center gym on Thursday, Dec. 14.
All of them, according to Zawadski, are meant to create holiday and community spirit.
“People come out and talk to their neighbors,” she observed, “and it’s just an all-around exciting event in Deptford.”
