The Boys & Girls Clubs’ honor went to Dr. Fred Keating, president of Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), and Amy B. Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County have selected Dr. Fred Keating, president of Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), and Amy B. Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health, as their 2023 Persons of the Year.
They will be honored at the Boys & Girls Clubs on Thursday, Oct. 19, at Auletto Caterers in Deptford. The theme for this year’s Gala is Together for Children: Strengthening Partnerships in Education and Healthcare.
The gala theme resonates with this year’s honorees being recognized as “visionaries for their collaboration in creating a premier partnership in education, employment, and patient care in South Jersey.”
Jeff Raudenbush, board chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs, said Mansue and Keating were a “natural choice,” noting that Inspira Health and RCSJ have been “fabulous partners for us for many years now.”
Mansue and Keating have offered the Boys and Girls Clubs “resources to help make a difference for our youth,” added Tay Walker, CEO of the organization.
“I am honored to accept this award from the Boys & Girls Club of Gloucester County, ” Keating said. “As a college, RCSJ wants to connect with elementary- and middle-school students to be an inspiration to them.
“We will also provide a pathway to higher education for Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County students and help them build a life that is meaningful to them.”
Boys & Girls Clubs has a nomination process that considers a Person of the Year candidate’s contributions to the county, as well as support of their mission to help the young people of the region. Both Keating and Mansue were selected for excelling in both key criteria as well as the partnership they have forged to improve the lives of young people and residents.
“Our great partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of Gloucester County is a meaningful
example of how we care deeply about the community and helping our children live healthy lives,” Mansue said. “It’s such an honor along with Dr. Keating to be named Persons of the Year by this incredible organization, and we look forward to continuing our collaborative and impactful work.”
As part of the premier partnership between RCSJ and Inspira Health, RCSJ nursing and allied health students will study and train in two buildings displaying the Inspira name: the Inspira Nursing & Health Professions Center and the Inspira Health Sciences Center.
Student scholarships will be provided for those pursuing health-care occupations and fund future program development. RCSJ will also provide all Inspira employees with a 50% discount on tuition and guarantee the best available price.
