Robbery

Medford Township Police Department responded to the Village of Taunton Forge, for a report of a male with breathing difficulty at 10:21 p.m. on Sept. 19.

Officers determined that the male was actually the victim of a robbery within the complex. The initial investigation determined the victim was assaulted by an unknown male wearing black clothing and a mask. The suspect allegedly sprayed the victim in the face with Grizzly Beat spray to disable him and stole his wallet and cell phone. The victim was transported to Virtua Marlton where he was treated for the chemical irritant exposure as well as abrasions to his head, elbows and knees.

The investigation is still active and on-going to identify all parties involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Medford Township Police Department Criminal Investigative Bureau at (609) 654-7375.

Prostitution

An investigation utilizing various law enforcement techniques and resources resulted in the execution of a search warrant by the Medford Township Police Department at the Sunny Spa located on Stokes Road in Medford on Sept. 15. The investigation utilized various public resources, the Mount Laurel, Mount Holly Township Police Departments as well as members of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security.

Based on the evidence during the cooperative investigation, A 62-year-old New York woman was charged with engaging in solicitation of prostitution and a 57-year-old Palisades Park woman was charged with promoting prostitution. Both females were released on a pending court appearance.

Eluding

A 19-year-old Medford man was identified and served with criminal complaints for eluding and multiple traffic offenses to include reckless driving and operating an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle on Aug. 31. These criminal and motor vehicle complaints are a result of incidents from July 10 and Aug. 26 where he is allegedly believed to have been operating his blue sport style motorcycle and failed to stop for police during an attempted motor vehicle stop. His motorcycle was impounded during the investigation.

Fatal

The Medford Police Department responded to the intersection of State Highway 70 and North Main St. (County Route 541) for a reported motor vehicle crash at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 22. The drivers of both involved vehicles sustained injuries requiring transportation to Cooper Trauma Center. One of the involved drivers, Lorraine Blumberg, 85, of Marlton passed away Aug. 29. The Medford Township Police Department Traffic Unit investigated the crash.
