Sunday, Aug. 27

Broadway musicians Jennifer Lohr, Patty Noble, and Ryan Fielding Garrett bring the sound of Broadway to South Jersey. The concert called “I Will Never Leave You” includes songs from “Sideshow,” “A Chorus Line,” “Wizard of Oz,” “The Greatest Showman,” “A Grand Night for Singing,” “Guys and Dolls,” and more. Partner organizations Friends of the Olde Stone House Village and Music at Bunker Hill present this family-friendly concert which is followed by reception with artists and free tour of the historic village.

The concert will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the old Bunker Hill Church at the Olde Stone House Village, 208 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell. Tickets are $10 for students 10 years and under and $25 for adults and seniors. For more information call (856) 494 6077 is available at www.musicatbunkerhill.org.

By Sept. 8

The Washington Township Police is planning to expand the police force and are currently accepting applications for police officer and Special Law Enforcement Officer II. Resumes will be accepted through Sept. 8 at 5 p.m.. All interested candidates must submit a resume in person or via email to Sgt. Eric Caveng.

Candidates for full time police officer must have earned a bachelor’s degree or 120 credits
from an accredited college. Candidates for SLEO II positions must have sixty (60) credits from an accredited college.

Calling all Township Businesses, Crafters, and Community Organizations! If you are interested in participating in Super Saturday on October 7th, please see the attached application or email Lisa Collins at lcollins@twp.washington.nj.us.

By Sept. 15

Participant registration forms and a check for $50 for Super Saturday are due by Sept. 15. Spaces are 10′ x 10′ and are given on a first come, first serve basis. Non-profit organizations will receive one spot for free, any additional spots must be paid for.

Forms can be dropped off at the Washington Township Municipal Building at 523 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell, or mailed.

Super Saturday is scheduled for Oct. 7. Rain date is Oct. 8. For more information contact Lisa Collins, park manager/events coordinator, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at (856) 256-7903 or via email at lcollins@twp.washington.nj.us.

Third Wednesday

The Washington Township Public Schools will continue its partnership with the Food Bank of South Jersey to stage a mobile food pantry behind the 9/10 wing of Washington Township High School off the Ganttown Road entrance from 8:30-10:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. Next distribution date is Sept. 20.

Ongoing:

The Washington Saves Lives Program is available for residents to use seven days a week between the hours 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. for a free ride from any bar or restaurant located within the township to their home. If you or if you know someone that may benefit from this program, please download the Uber application and use it during the designated hours.

The Washington Township Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighter. Become part of a progressive organization with the most up-to-date firefighting and rescue technology in the area. Whether you are responding to the Firehouse from home or staffing a station with fellow Firefighters, your help is needed.

The Washington Township Police Department is participating in the Special Needs Registry and Blue Envelope Program sponsored by the Gloucester County Police Chief’s Association and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.
