On Aug. 7, at approximately 11:46 a.m., Deptford Township Police Officers were advised of a suspicious incident that occurred on Aug. 6. The incident occurred at Deptford Township Memorial Park (formerly Fasola Park), located at 12 Sycamore Ln. The incident allegedly involved a young female, approximately 9 to10 years of age, approaching park-goers and their children.
Our officers immediately responded to the park and were able to identify the 9-year-old female, who was currently at the park with her mother. The young girl’s mother informed officers that her daughter has special needs and finds comfort engaging with other park-goers. The young girl was in no distress and appeared well cared for.
