On July 15, 2023, at approximately 8:27a.m., Deptford Township police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Deptford Avenue and Tacoma Boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle collision. On location, it was determined that a vehicle collided with a motorcycle and the motorcyclist was still pinned underneath the vehicle. Several Deptford Township police officers, with the aid of several bystanders, were able to lift the vehicle off the motorcyclist and pull the male out. The motorcyclist was transported to Cooper University Hospital, however the male passed away shortly after arrival.
The motorcyclist has been identified as a 39-year-old male from Woodbury. The identity of the decedent will be released once proper notifications have been made. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as a 34-year-old male from National Park. This case (23-21410) is being investigated by P.O. Colin Bustard and Det. Maureen Packer.
