Samaritan’s annual golf tournament, Drive FORE! A Good Cause will be held on Monday, June 26, at Little Mill Country Club in Marlton.
All proceeds from the event, presented by the Richardson Family Dealerships, will support the nonprofit’s comprehensive family of services, which benefit seriously ill patients and their families and those grieving a loss.
“We set a record in terms of overall charitable support for Samaritan, and it was just a great year,” said Chris Rollins, chief development officer at Samaritan, of its 2022 golf outing.
Samaritan was founded in Moorestown in 1980 as one of the first hospices in the country. It is now one of the state’s leading providers of hospice care, palliative (comfort) medicine, grief support and counseling, among other services.
Samaritan’s clients come from Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Mercer counties. The nonprofit also has two dedicated inpatient hospice centers in Voorhees and Mount Holly.
Rollins expects to see many familiar faces at this year’s golf outing, a day that brings people together.
“Many of the folks that are with us have had a personal experience somewhere along the way,” he explained. “In other words, it’s quite likely we cared for a family member. They’re a part of our extended family and are glad to be there to be able to help in this fun and enjoyable way.”
Day-of registration for the tournament opens at 10 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11:15 a.m. There is also a dinner-only option available for those who want to support Samaritan and only attend the award reception. Dinner is served in the late afternoon – usually around 4:30 p.m. – once all golfers have completed their matches.
Samaritan will also host an online auction to coincide with the tournament, allowing both golfers and those unable to attend an opportunity to bid on a variety of items, from rounds of golf and other experiences to gift baskets. More information about the online auction is available at https://www.silentauctionpro.com/bidonlinegrid.php?groupId=628.
The scramble-format tournament will also feature the Lexus Champions for Charity, sponsored by Lexus of Cherry Hill, a contest that offers a chance to play at Pebble Beach in California. Proxy bidding will be available for the auction at Samaritan’s event page.
“Drive FORE! A Good Cause” will also feature a variety of other activities sponsored by Challenge Sponsor Mancine Optical, including hole-in-one contests that offer a chance to win Lexus cars, mulligans (second-chance shots), 50/50 raffles and individual and foursome awards.

“For many it’s not just a round of competitive golf but it’s a great, social day to be together,” Rollins said.
