The Mullica Hill Art Center and Business Association are teaming up for the ninth year to present the Mullica Hill Arts and Crafts Festival on Main Street, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 13

Rain or shine, multiple arts and crafts vendors will line the street to show off their specialty artwork, including woodworking, photography and glass blowing. The event is being organized by Lynne Perez, who started the art center to bring attention to her business and to area artists.

“There were a lot of events going on (in Mullica Hill) and I just wanted to do one to show that we (the art center) are here,” she explained. “I get help from the (Mullica Hill) business association, who helps set everything up. In the past, we have had as many as 100 vendors show up.”

The art center also features classes for kids and adults, as well as workshops and birthday parties.

We at the Mullica Hill Art Center believe art is important in everyone’s life, and we strive to inspire people of all ages,” says the art center’s website. “We feature over 60 artists whose artworks are all local and available for sale.

“Between the teachers and staff here at the MHAC, we have over 100 years of combined art experience and education,” the site adds. “Not only do we provide over 60 local artists’ work for sale, but we also provide a place to learn and party.”

The art on display at the festival will also be available for purchase and there will be live demonstrations showcasing an artwork in progress. The event is free, with the exception of the art and food for sale that will include meals and refreshments. Activities for kids will also be free.

Dancers from the Mantua Noelle Dance Academy for kids will perform at the  festival.
