The Haddonfield Educational Trust (HET) and Haddonfield School District are proud to announce the new “HET Marshall Career Pathways Scholarship” offered to Haddonfield Memorial High School (HMHS) students who want to pursue post-secondary study in such fields as automotive, skilled trades, health sciences, information technology, cosmetology, and the culinary arts.
The scholarship offers students financial aid towards their study, apprenticeship, industry credentials, or the workplace tools, special equipment, books, or transportation needs to pursue their career goals.
“I have always been grateful for the support offered to our staff and students by the HET,” said Principal Tammy McHale. “This scholarship is an outstanding example of their commitment to every one of our students.”
The HET has set aside $25,000 to establish this annual scholarship. Initially, a single $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a member of the HMHS Class of 2023. The scholarship will be awarded by the HMHS Scholarship Committee based on their guidance counselor’s nomination.
“The HET will start with a $1,000 scholarship but our goal is to grow the fund to support multiple gifts for the Class of 2024 and beyond. There’s a lot of pressure on kids to go to college after graduation, but a four-year degree is not right for everyone. There are many pathways to a successful future and this fund will support and celebrate those choices”, said Maureen Eyles, President of the Haddonfield Educational Trust.
