Join the Markeim Arts Center and the Haddonfield Memorial High School C.A.R.E. Club for its next installment of The Art of Business Series, in which arts workers from various corners of the arts and cultural sector speak about the journeys and realities of their careers.
Markeim’s first The Art of Business was in January 2022. The career development speaker series has been a collaborative effort between Markeim and the HMHS ( Haddonfield Memorial High School) C.A.R.E. Club’s founder and president Pearle Bromley. Â In the past, we’ve hosted Erik James Montgomery of EJM Photography (fine art photographer), Benita Cooper of Benita Cooper Design (architect), and Rich Siegel of Cleaversoft (video game designer).
On Friday, April 28 from 5 to 6 p.m., meet Aseeli Coleman, a New York-based exhibition designer, artist, and business owner at the Markeim Arts Center. In an interactive setting, Aseeli will discuss the journey and reality of the career path that led her to becoming the Associate Exhibition Designer at the Whitney Museum of American Art followed by an audience Q&A.
Coleman is a New York-based designer and is currently the Associate Exhibition Designer at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Prior to this role, she interned as an exhibition designer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In her personal practice, her work is heavily inspired by her background in biology; she explores methods of using design as a tool for healing the complex relationship between humans and nature. Coleman also runs her own small business, &flora studio, through which she sold handcrafted toxin-free candles before pivoting to a floral focused design studio. Coleman has her M.A. in exhibition design from George Washington University and B.A. in art from Rutgers University.
