Figuring Out Retirement Group starts at Haddonfield UMC

Weekly group begins meeting Tuesday, May 2

Some are in that phase of life after work and raising children, which is commonly called “retirement.” Some say a “further life” is a better term for this time because people tend to live longer than their parents, and have the opportunity to develop a whole new life, beyond the responsibilities and constraints of career and parenting.

For those interested in reflecting on this time of life and helping each other figure it out, Haddonfield United Methodist Church is offering a group experience on “Figuring Out Retirement.” It will offer the opportunity to discuss candidly the challenges and opportunities offered in retirement. The group will meet weekly, on Tuesday mornings, 9 to 10:30 a.m., beginning May 2. It will be an open-ended group– you may come to one session or as many as you like, and it will continue for as long as there is interest.

The meetings will be facilitated by Harry Shallcross, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist and ordained American Baptist minister who is continuing to figure out his further life. He has a history of doing groups at Haddonfield UMC that have been well-received.

There is no charge, and there’s always coffee.

Contact the church office at (856) 429-0403 or office@haddonfieldumc.org for more information.
