Fire Department’s statement on line of duty death

The men and women of the Deptford Fire Department mourn the loss of Jeff M. Pfeiffer. A Member and Past Chief with the Deptford Fire Department, Jeff M. Pfeiffer passed away on March 24, 2023, after suffering a sudden heart attack while returning to the Fire Station from a Smoke Investigation call at an intersection in the Township of Deptford. Jeff dedicated 50 years to the Deptford Fire Department and to the residents of the Township of Deptford. He was a Chief for 17 of those years. He served as Fire Chief in the Almonesson Lake Fire Company and recently retired as a Battalion Chief in January 2022.

The tragic passing of ast Chief Jeff M Pfeiffer reminds us of all the inherent dangers of our profession. We are grateful to our firefighter brothers and sisters, Gloucester County EMS, Inspira paramedics and to the hospital staff for their valiant attempts to save Jeff M. Pfeiffer.”

Jeff M. Pfeiffer of Deptford, New Jersey passed away on March 24, 2023, at the age of 66. 

Born to the late Charles and Marilyn (nee Stedman) on May 20, 1956. Beloved brother to Chris (Kim) Pfeiffer of Deptford, loving uncle to Louie, chosen brother to Michael (Jackie) Gallagher and their daughter Megan, cherished friend of Louis (Robin) Pasquino. 

Jeff was the proud owner of the Westgrove Industrial Park, he was a firefighter for 50 years with the Deptford/Almonesson Fire Department, then became Chief for 17 years. He became Commander of the Gloucester County FOAM Task Force, as well as Deputy Chief of the Delaware Valley Judges Association. 

Not only did Jeff dedicate his life to the Fire Company, but he was also an astounding drummer for many bands, a lover of country music, he was a studio drummer in Nashville and a lover of the Country Music Awards. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jeff’s visitation on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a 12 p.m. funeral service in The Chapel of Boucher Funeral Home, located at 1757 Delsea Drive, Deptford NJ 08096. Interment will take place after the funeral service at New Saint Mary’s Cemetery & Mausoleum, located at 515 W. Browning Rd, Bellmawr, NJ 08031.
