Women’s History Month celebrated through networking event

Second event to celebrate women's contributions

The Partnership for Haddonfield will celebrate Women’s History Month with an inaugural networking event on Tuesday, March 28.

“I think it’s really important to recognize the positions women hold in the community and the power we possess and the way we get things done,” said Mayor Colleen Bianco Bezich, who also serves as the partnership’s events committee chair.

“I think this is the time to recognize the abilities that we have and to honor all the work that’s been done in leadership and at the ground level.”

Speakers will include Malina Poshtova Delamere, founder and president of Vida Rose Coaching Solutions, who will discuss the unique challenges she has faced as a woman in business, particularly in finance.

“What really inspired (this event) is the fact that the Partnership for Haddonfield events committee … is looking to host events that speak to the makeup of the community and are also more inclusive for members of the business community in Haddonfield and in the region,” the mayor explained.

“We were hoping to build upon the fact that it is Women’s History Month,’’ she added. “And in producing our first large networking event of the month, we wanted to speak to all of the women business owners in town and locally within the region, so they could participate and hopefully also find this of interest to them.”

The event is the second this month to bring women together in Haddonfield; the borough’s first Women’s Health Symposium on March 9 attracted a crowd of about 30 people for important conversations with local women in health care.

“We saw … (that) where women have conversations with other women, we really are able to engage and inspire one another, and it’s so much more meaningful to do that in person than on the computer or on the keyboard,” Bianco Bezich explained.

“I think this is an opportunity to shake hands and have honest conversations and learn from one another.”

Another symposium will be held in the summer, with details announced closer to the date.

The networking event will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Haddon Fortnightly. Tickets can be purchased before Saturday for $25, and can also be purchased beginning Sunday, for $35 at https://bit.ly/3Lr1vpl

Attendees must be at least 21 years old to purchase tickets. Those younger than 21 must be accompanied by an adult 25 years or older.
