A taste of Haddonfield

Restaurant week returns to borough for its fourth year

Around 22 restaurants are slated to participate in the 2023 Restaurant Week in Haddonfield offering special offers and hours. (Special to The Sun)

The Partnership for Haddonfield will host its fourth annual restaurant week beginning Tuesday, Feb. 28.

“It’s a six-day event, Tuesday through Sunday, that gives restaurants a chance to showcase their specialty items,” explained the partnership’s Executive Director, Michael Marciante. “It’s a good opportunity for them to encourage people to try out their tried-and-true favorites, but it’s an opportunity for people to get a sense for what these businesses really have to offer culinary wise.”

Marciante expects about 22 restaurants will participate in the promotion this year. When the partnership created its events committee, restaurant week was the first thing planned because there are so many new restaurants in town.

Participating restaurants this year run the gamut, from Animo Juice to Nicky B’s pizza, Kings Road Brewing Company to Wanda BYOB. The day before restaurant week ends on March 5, there will be ribbon cuttings for two new eateries: Gass and Maine at 10:30 a.m. and Earth Eats Co. at 11 a.m.

In addition to restaurant deals, the Partnership for Haddonfield has also teamed with   Haddonfield Plays and Players theater. A receipt from any participating restaurant will net a $5 credit at any theater concession booth item. At RS Home Company, customers who buy any non-alcoholic drinks get another half off.

“This isn’t the New York restaurant week, this isn’t the Philadelphia restaurant week, this is the Haddonfield one, and we want to make sure the event is successful,” Marciante noted. “While it may not be like a traditional restaurant week, each business is showing their support and offering specials so that the town feels like it’s part of a bigger event.

“We’re encouraging them to find their own way in so we can promote them as part of our food and beverage community.”
