Babies Boogie Storytime at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 10:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. Join us  for this twenty minute music based storytime for 0 through 24 months.  Baby Boogies will focus on dancing, rhymes, finger plays, music and movement, as well as very short stories.  We will be holding this story time in the Children’s Story Room. Open to Heggan Library cardholders only. Advance online registration is required.

Wiggle Worms Storytime at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 11 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. Join us for this thirty-minute non-traditional, active storytime based around movement, parachute and gross motor play for 24 through 36 months with their caregiver. We will be holding this story time in the Children’s Story Room. Open to Heggan Library cardholders only. Advance online registration is required.

Music and Motion Storytime at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 10:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. Join us for a dance and music based storytime for children ages 36 months and older with their caregiver. We will be holding this story time in the Children’s Story Room. Open to Heggan Library cardholders only. Advance online registration is required.

S.M.I.L.E at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 6:30 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. S.M.I.L.E. (Silent Mentors in Literary Education): Read to a dog or cat. For registration, please call or visit the library.

Washington Township High School Pops Concert at the Republic Bank Performing Arts Center from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 17

Friday Family Storytime at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 10:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. Please join us for Friday Family Storytime. This is a 30-minute storytime for the whole family. This program will take place in the Story Hour Room. Registration is restricted to Heggan cardholders only, and advance registration is required.

Art at the Library: Watercolors at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 11 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Come join us for a relaxing session of water color painting at the library. We will be practicing water colors with an exercise following a brief instruction on the basics of painting with watercolors. We will provide the paints, brushes and paper. Beginners and masters alike are welcome. This program will be held in person in the library meeting room. Open to adult cardholders only. Advanced registration is required.

Sunday, Feb. 19

Take a Seat: Chair Yoga with Dana at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 1:30 p.m. through 2:30 p.m. Join us for our chair yoga class where we focus on moving, breathing, building strength & flexibility, and end with relaxation. This class is perfect for all levels of students, including those who are new to yoga, as we use the chair to help balance, support, and challenge us.  All are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing that you will be able to move freely in. This class is free and open to all adult card members. The class will be held in our adult meeting room. Advance registration is required.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

Preschool Storytime at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 10:30 a.m. through 11 a.m. Please join us for a preschool storytime session for children ages 3 through 5, filled with songs, stories and  general silliness, all designed to boost your child’s early literacy skills while having a lot of fun.

Open to Heggan Library cardholders only. Advance online registration is required. We will be holding this story time in the Children’s Story Room.

Friends of the Library meeting at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 4 p.m. through 6 p.m. Monthly Meeting of the Friends of the Library. Everyone is welcome. Join us to see how you can support the library. This meeting is being held in the adult meeting room.

TAB meeting at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 4 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. The Teen Advisory Board meets to discuss upcoming teen programming, library events, displays and the collection.

Teen Book Club at the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 4:30 p.m. through 5:30 p.m. Chapter Chat is a Heggan Teen book club. This group is led by Teen Advisory Board members. Join us in the library or join us on ZOOM for lively teen and tween book discussions. This month is all about the books we most love! Come share your favorites with the group. Chocolate: is it the new health food? At the Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library from 6 p.m. through 7 p.m. Join us to learn many aspects of this plant food including more about how cocoa and dark chocolate, in moderation, can be part of your healthful diet, provided by Rutgers Cooperative Extension. Free samples of delicious chocolate will be provided.
