Mayor Medany’s Monthly Message

Deptford Town Council continues to review our budget, analyze our roads and make infrastructure improvements around town. Our top goals for this year are to ensure public safety, work on capital projects and build economic development.

Some of the larger projects planned for 2023 are the replacement of Stormwater pipes on Monmouth Road and LaSalle Avenue, renovations to the Free Public Library and construction of a new bathroom facility in the Deptford Central Park.  Projects on Monmouth Road and LaSalle Avenue are funded by money received from the American Rescue Plan.

Our Litter Patrol is out daily collecting unwanted debris and trash in our town. Recycling helps make our community and planet a better place to live.  Visit our website for more ways to recycle and help keep our community clean. We ask you to continue to recycle and place trash in the proper spot and remember that the choices we make today will impact our planet tomorrow.

Let’s prepare for the winter months as they are known for inclement weather. Register with “Everbridge” for County Alerts that enables them to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as severe weather, unexpected road closures, missing persons and evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods.  (https://member.everbridge.net/892807736725229/login).

We would like to congratulate the winners of our Annual “Come Fly with Us” event held Jan. 9 and Martin Luther King Remembrance event on Jan. 10. We thank the students, educators and parents who participated in these events and made them such a huge success.

Coming soon to Deptford. Raising Canes, Inspira Health and Bonesaw Brewery.

Wishing you a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
