New year, new website for Moorestown

Township launches site redesign on Jan. 10

Moorestown Township, in partnership with CivicPlus, is launching its website redesign on Jan. 10. The website’s configuration will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with all new functionality up by Tuesday afternoon.

“We are really excited about this website update,” said Mayor Nicole Gillespie. “Improving communication with residents has been a priority for council, and our new website will provide a much more efficient and effective way for residents and businesses to get the information they need. Plus, it will showcase residents’ photos of our town and highlight some of the great things happening in our community.”

While the township does not anticipate any major site disruptions amid the conversion, residents may experience some minor lag in navigation Tuesday morning. Residents are strongly encouraged to wait until after 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon to utilize the township website for the best user experience. 

The updated website features navigation buttons linking to residents’ most frequented pages. These buttons navigate to the following pages: Township Meetings; Trash & Recycling; Parks & Recreation; Tax & Utility Payments; Report a Concern and Permits & Applications.

Additionally, the updated homepage features a new “Community Events” calendar. Community groups, nonprofits or Moorestown businesses looking to promote free or charitable community events are encouraged to submit calendar listings to the township’s Assistant Public Information Officer, Kelly Flynn, at kflynn@moorestown.nj.us. For-profit events and events targeted at business promotion are not eligible for listing.

For the last year, Moorestown Township staff and members of the township’s Telecommunications and Technology committee collaborated on the site redesign with CivicPlus, a provider of integrated technology solutions exclusively for local governments. CivicPlus’ content management system will allow greater transparency of documents and data for residents, will increase resident engagement by offering more dynamic content and more timely news and will improve administrative efficiencies by implementing a website with resident self-service features through its set of robust features.

 “We hope this more user-friendly upgrade will promote community engagement and make it easier to find needed information,” said Deputy Mayor Sue Mammarella. “We also look forward to increasing the number of residents who sign up to receive alerts and other notifications via text message or email.”
