Burlington County Library System Foundation collecting used laptops

Drive helps residents stay connected digitally

Please consider donating your used but still functioning laptop to the Burlington County Library System Foundation’s (BCLSF) upcoming Laptop Drop Off collection drive on Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the Burlington County Library and the Evesham Library.

Please note that all donated equipment must still be in working order so that it can be refurbished by the foundation’s volunteer computer experts. (Residents should seek other means of disposing of non-working computers, such as the county recycling program.) Even though all donated equipment will be purged of personal data, residents are also being encouraged to remove their data before turning it over.

The foundation would like to offer special thanks to local nonprofit TDI Connect for assistance in refurbishing the laptops to benefit struggling Burlington County residents.

The laptop refurbishing program dovetails with other ongoing technology initiatives. BCLSF previously donated $6,000 which, coupled with a $45,000 grant, enabled the library system to buy Chromebooks and mobile hotspots for loan to library customers. Their latest donation of $15,000 will help the Mobile Learning Lab purchase laptops for technology training offered at community partner locations throughout Burlington County.
