“Our community has a wonderful desire to learn about the various issues and contributions from Israel,” said David Bross, Israel Advocacy Initiative co-chair. “Our community members are talented educators and passionate individuals who are excited to share their knowledge and experiences with you.

“We are fortunate to be part of a community that is so engaged in Israel education,”

Approximately 20 sessions will be offered by community educators, clergy, and learning enthusiasts that will fill the night with a variety of topics, all relating to Israel. People of all levels and ages will find something to spark their interest. You may participate in two of the many hands-on interactive session choices, such as a wine tasting featuring wines from Israel, a Krav Maga class, or an inspiring interactive Israel-themed art class.

The evening session selections will revolve around the America-Israel relationship and its importance around the world as well as Israel’s rich culture. You may also engage in conversation to learn more about non-Jewish groups that support Israel as well as gain a deeper understanding of Arab Israelis. Plus, there will be traditional text study sessions available which will demonstrate how ancient texts relate to modern Israel.

Once the evening sessions conclude, everyone will gather together to enjoy live music by local Israeli band, Twelve Tribes, that will play some of Israel’s greatest musical hits.

“It’s empowering and unifying to have a night of Jewish learning that focuses entirely on Israel in our community,” Alan Moldoff, Israel Advocacy Initiative co-chair, noted. “These conversations are only the beginning to open up dialogue to discuss Israel as well as a great opportunity to showcase and be proud of the culture that comes from our homeland.”

The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with check-in of those who are pre-registered and walk-in registrations, followed by an Havdalah service at 7:15 p.m., conducted by a local Rabbi. Two consecutive sessions, each 45 minutes long, will then begin at 7:30 p.m., and conclude just before the music begins with light refreshments in the Social Hall. Cost for the evening is $18 if pre-registered or $25 at the door.

Sessions are limited in number of attendees, so in order to join in on the fun, register online today at www.jcrcsnj.org/forum
