Earlier this year, the Haddonfield Crew Club set out to hold its first Dawgs of Haddonfield Calendar Contest, beginning with a Dawg photo contest in June and resulting in photo shoots throughout the summer by Debbie Troy of Debbie Troy Photography for the top dogs who received the most votes. All of the top dogs except Penny, a winning dog who posthumously won and who will be featured for the month of May, participated.
With the photo shoots wrapping up in late October, the Haddonfield Crew Club will be having a launch party for the Dawgs of Haddonfield Calendar to celebrate, open to all interested, sponsored by King’s Road Brewing and Tito’s Vodka.
“The calendar is amazing and will definitely be a fantastic holiday gift this December for all gift giving holidays,” said Robert Berman, board president of the Haddonfield Crew Club.
The event will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge on Kings Highway and has a limit of 200 guests. Attendees are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance.
With the money raised just from the Dog Photo contest, The Haddonfield Crew Team was able to purchase a brand new Pocock V8 rowing shell and new oars. This new shell was brought to The Head of the Charles in Boston on October 22. The New Pocock helped the Boys team place 7th in the USA for their Under 17 Varsity Boys category and was rowed at the Head of the Schuylkill on Oct. 30 by the Girls Varsity 8 earning them a second-place finish amongst all Cooper River Boathouse teams.
The Launch Party is 21+, and will feature food, beverage, and live music. Cost to purchase tickets in advance are $60 per person, $75 at the door. There will also be some special prizes and fun happenings during the evening.
The Dawgs of Haddonfield 2023 calendars will be available for purchase for $25.
