“This pandemic has adversely affected the quality of life all of us over the past two years,” said Mayor Susan Shin Angulo. “Our hope is that this program will help those organizations, businesses, and residents who were hardest hit by COVID-19 and help get them back on their feet. I want to thank Congressman Donald Norcross for his tireless efforts in securing this much needed assistance for our community.”

Township Council has approved that a portion of this funding is made available as recovery grants to community organizations, non-profits, and small businesses that have faced economic hardship resulting from or worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant program opens for application submissions on Oct. 31, 2022.

“We are committed to having the greatest positive impact on our residents’ lives,” said Council President Fleisher. We want to ensure this program reaches community members that were hardest hit and we will ensure this program will be ran effectively with tight fiscal controls.”

Following this grant opportunity and dependent on remaining funds available, the Township may open additional social service program reinvestment grants that will prioritize funding for programs that support the following:

  • Food Insecurity Programs.
  • Drug Overdose Prevention Programs.
  • Behavioral and Mental Health Programs.
  • Violence Prevention Programs.
  • Affordable Childcare Programs.
  • Programs that support the most vulnerable including Seniors, ADA and Special Needs Programs.
